TANGLE LAB ANNIVERSARY
When I was working in a corporate environment, I guess that I was functioning in weekly increments. Weekend to weekend, and mostly work in between. Since I started Tangle Lab in February 2022, I plan around the third Wednesday of the month, which is when our live online workshops happen. Somehow it seems like these monthly increments make time seem to flow even quicker! Or is it due to my older age? 😀 Perhaps I’m having too much fun now that I do what I love – after all, time flies quickly when you have fun.
I was reminded in February by one of the Tangle Lab members during the live online workshop about the fourth anniversary. It made my heart melt to realize that the members cared about that, too.Â
Four years = 48 months.
Add to that the four additional months up until now, and we have had 52 full months of projects.Â
Below is the mosaic with 52 photos of main Tangle Lab monthly projects. Every month I prepare two additional shorter prompts that serve as a warm-up or a follow-up to these. So, in total there were 150+ video recordings that I uploaded for the members. wow…Â
The photo is big but when you click on it, it will open in a bigger resolution, if you care to look at the details.
Invitation to come as you are
My goal of starting Tangle Lab was to encourage and enable the members to just show up and create fearlessly. We are imperfect beings and we create imperfect art. Beauty lies in that imperfection and uniqueness of each piece. Everyone is encouraged to follow me as much as it suits them. Any tangle that I use can be replaced by another one, every color can be substituted by whichever hue the artist is pulled to. I hope that each past and current member felt comfortable enough to show up just the way they are. Ease and comfort of creating is born out of the trust in the process. It took time for me to find that ease, but the more I drew, the easier it got.
If you would like to take a closer look at each piece, I collected them in a short video that you can find on my YouTube profile. They are also available, along with the mosaics, on a dedicated Instagram account (@tanglelab). That is where you can find the mosaics made with many of the members’ drawings, as well.
