CHRISTMAS TANGLES
It seems to me that it’s just fine to start the Christmas countdown once that November is here. Just look at all the decorations around us! Are you thinking about what to give your oved ones this year? There is nothing better than a special, hand-made gift! Check out my Christmas Tangles, maybe take an online class and get inspired to create your unique cards and tags.
Ever since I discovered Zentangle (it will be 6 years soon!) I remember how beautiful and unique drawings filled my social media feed once December was near. And almost every year I jumped the train and created my own Christmas-inspired designs. There are many Zentangle patterns that are just perfect for Christmas themes.
Last year I started releasing online Zentangle classes through my website and I created two Christmas-based projects that I offered as video on demand classes.
Tangled Banner
Drawing a banner as a focal motif seemed to me like a lovey way to make space for a message or a name of a special person. That is why I decided to create a class centered around a banner. In this class I also show an interesting way of using markers to add color to a black tile. Although I use the back tile in the class project, you could certainly use any other paper tile, like in one of the examples below. You can find the Tangled Banner video class if you click here.
Tangled Christmas Card
Another class launched in 2020 features totally different type of design. It’s fun and playful. I have always loved kids illustration and drawing cartoonish characters. So this one features a cute character peeking through a window. In the class project I draw Rudolph, but a step-by-step instruction to draw a Santa is in the PDF eBook that is included for download. If you prefer that design, you can click here.
Christmas Tangles – Bundle
If you can’t or don’t want to choose between the designs, you can check out the bundle and but both video classes with a 15% discount.
Festive Fragments
I taught a fun and easy class on an online event, featuring Zentangle’s Reticula and Fragments concept. This project is great for beginners, too, as it teaches you how to create unique cards, gifts or ornaments effortlessly. Another good thing about this one is that it requires minimum supplies and short time to finish it. So, you can create several unique cards easily. You can find the Festive Fragments class here. If you would like me to create a specific Christmas card bundle for you please let me know.
Edited in December 2022 to add that there is a video of a festive version of Zentangle’s tangle Mythograph that you can access for free on my YouTube channel.
